Turkey Day

Coming up soon we have my favorite holiday of the year.
A holiday devoted to the promotion of American obesity, oh yes and giving thanks of corse. I love thanksgiving more then I would like to admit, you get a good, healthy dose of all my favorite parts of a family gathering: extended periods of time spent catching up with family and friends, the occasional drunk relative, and so much food that it hurts.
Although I truly love the holiday I have a few strong quarrels with the way the celebrations are held; no not the celebrations the rationalizations of the celebrations. For instance the idea that the way to give thanks for an object such as food is to over use it. In most cultures such an event is celebrated by fasting, the idea behind this form of celebration is that you will better understand how it feels to live without the substance; helping you to better appreciate its presence of it in your daily life. I don't by any means mean to spew my hippy views at you, but there are people around the world who would quite literally die for a bite of the stuffing that you are forcing your self to have a seventh serving of, so this year please consider what over eating means to those who cant even under eat. Give thanks.

    Happy Thanksgiving Guys
